Our Mission :
The Federation is an umbrella organization presently composed of fourteen non-profit civic, fraternal, and social member organizations in the Brooklyn and Queens areas.
The Federation is a not-for-profit corporation incorporated under the Laws of the State of New York under Section 402.
Purpose and Objectives:
To provide a variety of much-needed social services to the large Italian and Italian-American communities in Brooklyn and Queens. The target groups are the poor, the immigrants, the senior citizens and the under-privileged youth.
Said services will include processing applications for Medicare, Medicaid, Rent increase exemptions, Nursing home placements, Social Security, S.S.I., Food Stamps, Welfare, H.E.A.P., Section 8. The organization will also conduct Citizenship and English as a second Language classes, and will mount Voter registration drives. Educational and Counseling services in addition to opportunities to engage in Sporting activities will be provided to the youth of the community. Tutoring classes will be offered in English, Remedial Reading, Math, and Italian Language.
All of the said services will be provided by bilingual personnel staffing the Federation’s headquarters, which will be opened Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday’s to service the needs of the working members of the community.
The main purposes of our organization is to promote and keep alive the rich Italian culture and heritage and to promote a positive image of Italians.
